Specialist Allied Health & Therapeutic Services

Therapy & Allied Health

At Music Life, we believe in a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, addressing the physical, psychological and emotional, social and spiritual needs of each person. Our goal is to help you achieve your therapeutic goals and improve wellbeing in all areas of your life.


We provide specialist allied health & specialist therapeutic services including tailored therapeutic services for people across the lifespan, including individuals, groups, early intervention, children and young people, families, adults, and older adults.


We provide specialist therapeutic services including: 


  • individual therapy
  • music therapy 
  • behaviour therapy
  • early intervention therapy (see page for info) 
  • trauma therapy


We are planning to expand our range of allied health services as part of our allied health team including areas such as social work, counselling and psychotherapy, speech pathology, occupational therapy and clinical psychology etc


If you are an Allied Health Professional and/or Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner who is looking to join our team, give us a call.

Where we provide our therapy services and sessions:

We will 'walk' with you wherever is comfortable and supportive for you.

  • Mobile/ Onsite support - This may be at your home, at school or work, or an identified location convenient to you. This includes support in metropolitan, regional, remote and very remote areas and on Country.
  • Telehealth sessions inclusive of a blended model of telehealth and in-person sessions, where possible
  • Therapy clinic sessions - we have two identified clinic spaces available for you on the Central Coast for therapy sessions in person
  • Flexible open clinic spaces - We also provide therapy sessions in nature with options for sessions with 'rainbow space' (creative and play spaces, and safe space as defined by you), 'blue space' (ocean walks) or 'green space' (trees/forest/park or national park/garden) or 'ochre space' (on Country in areas connected to you and mob as  

            well as in outback remote and very remote areas), and 'light space'   

            as identified soaking in the cathedrals of light from our sunshine and beautiful 

            natural world and earth, wherever you are

  • Retreat Central Coast - We have several identified locations (or will assist you to identify) for suitable accommodation on the Central Coast whilst you access intensive therapeutic support (therapy sessions) and/or specialist behaviour support, and/or with blended spiritual care sessions (if preferred or requested) with us whilst you stay in a relaxed coastal setting, in locations that support you (and if you like your family or loved ones) to have a break away for deep rest, nurture and restoration

    Music Therapy

    What is music therapy?

    Music therapy is an evidence-based allied health profession where music is used to empower and support people of all ages to holistically improve their health, functioning and wellbeing.


    Music therapy is for people of all ages, from prenatal and perinatal, early childhood, children and young people, adults, older adults, palliative and end of life.


    Music therapy is more than just listening to and playing music.

    Music therapy uses a creative approach and therapeutic approach to support you to maximise your health, wellbeing and holistic goals and needs.

    We use and draw upon a range of different approaches in our therapy sessions.


    Music therapy can support a wide range of goals and needs such as: 

    • Communication – improve speech, language development, support non-verbal communication and AAC use, improve function, support social pragmatic skills etc
    • Physical health & mobility – motor skill development (fine and gross motor skills), mobility, balance, movement, help regulate heart rate & breathing, support sleep, support pain management, support rehabilitation & recovery etc
    • Complex healthcare needs - support complex healthcare needs and management, improve respiratory muscle strength & control,
    • Mental health – reduce anxiety or stress, regulate mood and arousal, trauma reparation, attachment needs, relaxation, self-esteem, self-expression, motivation, support symptom management of mental illness etc
    • Behaviour – support behavioural difficulties and regulation
    • Sensory – support auditory processing, sensory processing difficulties and integration 
    • Cognitive – increase memory, learning, attention, self-awareness, sequencing, planning, problem-solving etc
    • Social emotional – improve social skills, independence, participation, engagement, support emotional expression and regulation, support identity and self-esteem etc
    • Creativity – expressive confidence, music & instrument learning, supporting creativity
    • Early Childhood Intervention - support developmental and early childhood needs
    • Support rehabilitation & recovery - support neurorehabilitation, maximise function & potential
    • Support specialist ageing, dementia, palliative care and end of life care needs - provide specialist dementia care, palliative and end-of-life care for people with complex support needs
    • Support cultural & spiritual needs 
    • Specialist support for people with complex support needs


     

    Specific for Music therapy sessions:

    You don’t need to be musical to participate in or benefit from music therapy.

    Music Life provides music therapy assessment and therapy sessions including:

    • Individual Music Therapy sessions

    • Group Music Therapy sessions (as available)

    • Supported music lessons
